England will kick off their Euro 2025 campaign two weeks from today, Sarina Wiegman's side facing a very tough start to the tournament in Switzerland as they meet France on Saturday 5 July in Zurich.
The two sides met in qualifying for the tournament and there was little between them as the French ran out 2-1 winners in Newcastle in May last year before England hit back just four days later and triumphed by a similar scoreline in their away game.
England go into the competition without the experience of Mary Earps and Fran Kirby, recent international retirees, as well as the absent Mille Bright while France coach Laurent Bonadei has made the big call to leave Wendie Renard and Eugenie Le Sommer, with over 350 internationals between them, out of his squad.
It doesn't get any easier for England as their next opponents, also in Zurich, are 2017 winners Holland, well known of course to Wiegman who led them to that triumph, before the group stage ends in St.Gallen on Sunday 13 July against tournament newcomers Wales.
England's opener and the Wales game are scheduled for ITV coverage with the BBC showing the Netherlands game.
For those supporters heading out to support the team, the Football Supporters' Association will be providing their Free Lionesses service on the ground in Switzerland.
