Lee Carsley's England side have qualified for the quarter-finals of the Under-21 European Championships, progressing despite a 2-1 defeat at the hands of Germany on Wednesday evening.
Trailing by two goals at the break, Alex Scott's goal with fifteen minutes remaining proved to be only a consolation for the holders and meant they finish second in their group behind the Germans.
That sets up a quarter-final against Spain on Saturday, the game being a rematch of the 2023 final.
England's U19's were involved in a Euros thriller of their own against Germany earlier in the week.
Trailing 5-1 at half-time in Bucharest, Will Antwi's side scored four times in eleven second-half minutes to keep alive their qualification hopes ahead of a final group stage game against the Netherlands on Friday.
