Transfer deadline day in the Premier League saw two players who will still have hopes of adding to their tally of England caps make loan moves away from clubs where they had been frozen out.
Marcus Rashford made the last of his 60 international appearances in March 2024 against Brazil and, after becoming surplus to requirements at Manchester United has joined Aston Villa.
Crystal Palace, meanwhile, have offered a lifeline to Chelsea's Ben Chilwell, holder of 21 caps in a position where England are not overly stocked with options.
"I'm very excited to be here," Chilwell told the official Crystal Palace website.
"Crystal Palace is a club that's going in a great direction. You look at the last few months, with the results and how the team's playing, and it was a no-brainer to make the decision to come here."
Elsewhere on the England front, Palace rejected a big-money offer from Tottenham for Marc Guehi.
