Chelsea are through to the Club World Cup final after beating Brazilian side Fluminense in the semis.

Joao Pedro was the hero as he opened his account for his new club with a brace to ensure the Blues will be back at the MetLife Stadium to face either either Real Madrid or European champions Paris Saint-Germain in Sunday’s final.

When asked who he would prefer to face, Chelsea boss Enzo Maresca said:

"They are both top teams. One won the Champions League this season, the other one last season. They are top teams but we are proud and we are happy to be there.

Chelsea are looking to cap an excellent season, in which they've already won the Europa Conference League and qualified for the Champions League, by winning the inaugural Club World Cup, with Maresca admitting it's been a fantastic season regardless of what happens in the final.

"It is a great achievement. It has been a fantastic season; top four in the Premier League, Conference League and now in the final of this competition - we are so, so happy,” Maresca added.

"We go game by game. Finally we have the last game of the season and hopefully we can win the tournament."
