Blackburn Rovers chasing Hibs winger Elie Youan

According to journo Alan Nixon, Blackburn Rovers have made a move to sign Hibs winger Elie Youan.

The 25-year-old Frenchman is contracted to Easter Road until 2026, and apparently the English Championship side have already had an approach rejected.

However, they are confident they can agree a fee with Hibs and sign the exciting former Nantes player.

Hibs rejected an offer in the summer for Youan from FC Basel, thought to be in the £2m-£2.5m bracket.

Youan had just returned to his exciting best, after months of dropping in and out the team, when he picked up his injury in December and has been a big miss since.

He signed for the Hibees in 2022, initially on loan, before making the move permanent in a reported £600,000 deal from St Gallen.

Youan has played 94 times for Hibs scoring 21 goals and adding 19 assists (transfermarkt).

HIBERNIAN MAD VIEW

Elie would be a big miss for us, but soemthing hasn't been right with him since last season.

His form has just picked up again before his injury, and that has clearly  grabbed attention.

Hibs turned down a decent fee in the summer from Basel, and we'd expect something similair would be needed for him to head south.

Some of the money would surely need to be re-invested should Elie leave, as David Gray looks to make a push for the European places at the latter end of the season.
