Sad news reached the Hibee massive on Saturday morning, with the news that former club owner Sir Tom Farmer had passed away aged 84.
Farmer bought, and saved the club from extinction in 1991, when former Hearts owner Wallace Merer tried to buy the club and "merge" it with Hearts.
Sir Tom owned the club until 2019 when he sold it to the Ron Gordon, who himself passed away, from cancer, in 2023, ending 28 years at the helm at Easter Road.
During his time in charge, Hibs had Two League Cup Wins in 1991 and 2007 and ended the 114 year wait to win the Scottish Cup in 2016.
Mr Farmer, of course, was the founder of Kwik-Fit, which he sold to Ford for £1bn in 1999 and also Farmer Autocare.
Tom wasn't the first Farmer to save the club, John (Grandfather) and Phillip Farmer (Great Uncle) having had a huge hand in saving it back in 1891.
RIP Sir Tom and THANK YOU.
Our thoughts are with his family at this time.
HIBERNIAN-MAD VIEW:
What an impact the man had on our club.
We call on the club to name a stand after Sir Tom. It's more than deserved.
