Hibs have today been linked with a move for Preston North End midfielder Ryan Ledson.

According to the Daily Record, The Black Knights have alerted the club to the possibility of signing the soon to be out-of-contract star.

Hibs have declared their interest in Ledson, in an attempt to fight of his former club Oxford City, as well as Bolton, Huddersfield and Plymouth.

Boss David Gray will be hoping the lure of European football, and most likely league stage at that, will give the Hibees an extra edge in the fight to sign the player.

Ledson is one of a number of players recently linked with a move to Easter Road, as a busy transfer window awaits.

Ledson, 27, started his career with Everton, making only 1 appearance, he was loaned out to Cambridge United for the 2015-16 season and impressed, playing 28 games.

He then returned to Goodison Park, but moved to Oxford United that summer, after it was made clear he had no future at Everton.

Ledson spent two impressive seasons at the U's, making 80 appearances, and his form caught the attention of Preston, who he signed for, for an undisclosed fee in 2018.

He has now spent 7 season at Deepdale, playing over 180 times.

England caps have also been picked up from U16-U20 level.

HIBERNIAN-MAD VIEW

Yet another transfer linked to Easter Road.

The Hibees will be looking to bolster their squad for the up-coming season, especially with a possible extended stint in European competition.

Midfield is an area Hibs boss David Gray is not short on players, however he has to get the balance correct, and a new face or two, coupled with a couple of exits would refresh the squad.
