Defeat by Spain on Tuesday evening saw England miss out on a Women's Nations League semi-final place, two second-half goals from substitute Claudia Pina giving the hosts all three points in Barcelona after Alessia Russo had netted midway through the first-half to give England hope of a similar result to their hard-fought 1-0 win at Wembley earlier in the group.
But the world champions fought back to provide another reminder of their quality with the European Championships in Switzerland now only a month away.
Following on from Friday's impressive victory against Portugal at Wembley, Lionesses' boss Sarina Wiegman took the final opportunity to look at potential picks for her Euros' squad, which will be named on Thursday as England seek to defend the crown they won on home soil in 2022.
They have a warm-up friendly against Jamaica at the end of the month before group stage fixtures against France, Netherlands and Wales but will know that at some point Spain are likely to stand in the way of a second successive crown.
