Hibs have tonight revealed that goalkeeper David Marshall has retired from football.
The 39-year-old has decided to end his long career, one that has taken in the likes of Celtic, Cardiff City and QPR, with immediate effect.
Marshall will now join the Hibs football department as Technical Performance Manager.
The former Scotland international played over 670 times in his career and was capped 47 times by Scotland.
He, of course, saved the penalty against Serbia that sent Scotland to it's first tournament since 1998 when they qualified for the 2020 European Championships
Marsh played 86 times for Hibs.
Speaking to the official club website, he said:
“Having made the decision to retire from football, I’m delighted to be given the opportunity in this role at the Football Club. I’ve got to know and understand the Club over the last two seasons and I look forward to working closely with Malky Mackay to create an environment which can deliver success both on and off the pitch.
"This new role is a great opportunity for me to work across various different performance departments within the Football Club and to learn from Malky who has years of experience in the game.
"The fans' support will be vital to our success and I know, as always, you’ll be there for the team, David Gray and his coaching staff. I am looking forward to getting started for the 2024/25 campaign.”

It was the right time for David to hang up the gloves, at 39 years of age, he was definately heading to the end.
He has had a fantastic career, and did a job for the Hibees.
