Pochettino profoundly sad over Tottenham's relegation struggle

Former Spurs boss Mauricio Pochettino has spoken out about Tottenham Hotspur's current crisis, describing their position in the bottom three as "really sad."

Speaking on the Stick to Football podcast, the current USMNT head coach expressed his deep emotional connection to the club and his shock at seeing them fight for survival just seven years after he led them to a Champions League final.

Spurs currently sit in 18th place, two points adrift of safety with only four fixtures remaining.

While they secured their first win of 2026 last weekend against Wolves, the loss of key players to injury has left the squad looking vulnerable.

Pochettino's comments have added to the somber mood in North London as the club prepares for a daunting trip to face high-flying Aston Villa this Sunday.
