Oldham sign young duo
Oldham Athletic have moved to sign young players Rene Steer and Philip Ojapah on one-year deals.
Steer arrives from Arsenal after trialling at Boundary Park.
The 19-year-old left-back made one appearance for the Gunners last season, appearing from the bench in their Carling Cup clash with Burnley.
Steer also spent three months at Gillingham, who were promoted to League One last season.
Ojapah is another 19-year-old who arrives from AFC Liverpool.
The central midfielder has earned many plaudits with the non-league side and has also been on trial with the Latics.
Manager Dave Penney told Oldham's official website: "This youngster (Ojapah) has got what it takes, but there is still a long way to go.
"Philip needs to buckle down and work hard now."
