Megson snares defensive duo
Bolton Wanderers manager Gary Megson is delighted to have beaten off competition from other clubs to snap up the defensive duo of Zat Knight and Sam Ricketts.
Both players have penned three-year deals at the Reebok Stadium with Knight moving to the Trotters from Aston Villa, while Ricketts arrives from Hull City.
Knight spent the last two seasons at Villa Park after making his name at Fulham, while Wales international Ricketts has been with the Tigers for the last three years after previously starring for Oxford United and Swansea City.
Megson told the club's official website of his double coup: "We're really pleased that we could complete the deals. Both players had other offers to consider.
"I'm sure that they'll fit in to the squad and we're going to make sure that we help them with their new challenge.
"Zat has plenty of Premier League experience and has played at the highest level with England, while Sam personally had a successful debut Premier League campaign with Hull."
