Ralf Rangnick has revealed that implementing his playing style at Manchester United is secondary, insisting that he is all "about winning".
The German was placed in interim charge at Old Trafford until the end of the season following the sacking of Ole Gunnar Solskjaer last month.
After his stint in the dugout, Rangnick will move into a consultancy role for a further two years as he looks to guide United back to the summit of English football.
He has got off to a good start on the managerial side of things, beating Crystal Palace 1-0 in his first game in charge on Sunday.
Next up for Rangnick's charges is a Champions League dead rubber - for them at least - against Young Boys, who inflicted a shock defeat on ten-man United on matchday one.
Speaking before that game, the Red Devils boss said that a win was vital, even though progression to the knockout stages is already confirmed.
"Yes, they are under pressure, more than we are. Result-wise, we are not under pressure, but our ethos is to win games, and we want to play in a way that we still dominate the game," he told the club's website.
"In the end, it's about winning. It's not about just playing nice football or intensive football.
"It's about winning. So again, the players who will play, they will want to win the game, and maybe then, in a way, also make up for the defeat in the first round [of games]."
Rangnick also revealed that the Young Boys game would give him the chance to hand some minutes to United's squad players.
"The younger players, to give them game time. The same with Mason Greenwood, who hasn't played that much in the last couple of weeks, so he will also definitely play," he said.
"But also a few of the experienced ones who didn't get that much game time in the past.
"Aaron [Wan-Bissaka], hopefully even Luke [Shaw] will be available for the game. Nemanja [Matic] will be the captain tomorrow.
"Juan Mata will get game time. Jesse Lingard. So we have quite a few players who will be playing tomorrow, and who definitely and desperately need game time."
