The second half team then managed to score three without reply to give North End the victory. Whiteman scored from the spot shortly after the break before triallist, Woodburn, scored before youngster O'Neill rounded off the win.
Preston now travel to a training camp in Spain where they will face Getafe with North End set to take a reasonable following to the match south of Alicante.
