Pompey To Face QPR Again

Pompey have been drawn away to Queens Park Rangers in the second round of the Carabao Cup.

This will mark the third time Kenny Jackett's men have taken on the Championship side this calendar year despite not being in the same division after a 1-1 draw at Fratton Park in the F.A. Cup led to a replay at Loftus Road which Pompey lost 2-0.

Rangers are now managed by Mark Warburton and are one the teams tipped for relegation from the second tier but they'll still be favourites for the tie and they've started the season well. There'll be many Pompey fans who won't care if their team loses given how much the extra cup games led to late season fatigue during the last campaign as the league will always take priority.

The tie will most likely take place on Tuesday, August 27th with a 7:45pm kick off. However, with Southampton away at Fulham scheduled for the same night it could well be that the police will demand one of the ties be moved.
