Not So Goals Galore

Ryan Lowe suggested that Preston could have taken six points from their first two games but instead they claimed two points largely due to missed opportunities.

There are reasons to be positive. Against Hull North End created more chances than in the first game against Wigan. They looked the more positive team and the pattern of play was much improved from recent times.

Defensively Preston look strong and have largely remained untroubled in the first two games with Woodman barely called into action but in reality the strength of opposition has not been great.

Preston came closes to breaking the deadlock at Deepdale against Hull. In the second half a deflected effort came off the woodwork. The best chance once again fell to Parrott.

The young stiker was played trhough from a superb ball by substitute Woodburn. Unfortunetaly Parrott delayed and by the time he got his shot off the defenrder and keeper were able to close down and block off his attempt.

There were other opportunities but Preston at present are not clinical enough and if they are to have any hope of a top six spot then Preston need to convert.

There will be changes for the League cup tie away at Huddersfield before a return to league action on Saturday away at Luton.
