Marcin Bu?ka Reveals Just How Much Ángel Di María Hates Manchester United

Paris Saint-Germain goalkeeper Marcin Bułka has revealed that forward Ángel Di María cannot even bare to watch Manchester United on the TV anymore as a result of his dislike for the club.

United parted with a then-British record £59.7m to bring Di María to the club from Real Madrid in August 2014, but the Argentina international endured a torrid season. He managed just four goals in 32 appearances and was quickly shipped off to PSG just one year later.

Di María has since rediscovered his best form in Paris, and Bułka confirmed to Foot Truck that the 32-year-old is eager to forget his spell at Old Trafford ever happened.

"Di María hates Manchester United," Bułka stated. "He has no good memory of the time he spent there.

"In fact, when something related to Manchester United appears on television, he changes the channel quickly."

United fans have seemingly not forgotten about Di María's struggles at the club, serenading him which a chorus of boos when he returned to Old Trafford with PSG in the Champions League in February 2019.

One fan even launched a beer bottle at Di María, who chose to fight fire with fire by pretending to drink it in front of the crowd.

The Argentine had the last laugh on the night, setting up both goals in a 2-0 win, and he even appeared to tell the crowd to 'f**k off' as he celebrated the first. However, United fans would ultimately have their revenge when their side turned things around in the away leg to win 3-1 and dump PSG out of the competition.

Earlier this month, Di María hit out at United for giving him the number seven shirt, which had been famously worn by the likes of George Best, Eric Cantona and Cristiano Ronaldo, when he actually wanted to wear 11.

“It’s a shirt number I wore a lot when I was younger, and I was keen to get once again," he told Ligue 1 (via Manchester Evening News).

“At Real Madrid, number 11 was already taken, so I took 22. At Manchester United they gave me number seven, I didn’t get a choice. I would have liked 11 but there we are. Here, I had a choice, so I chose 11.”
