United have won just one of their previous four meetings against Crystal Palace stretching back to last season.

In fact, the Eagles are unbeaten in their last three visits to Old Trafford, claiming victory in two of them. Last season's clash between the sides in Manchester went the way of Palace with a brace from Wilfried Zaha, once of a United persuasion, in a 3-1 win.

The new manager bounce is a fascinating phenomenon and United will hope to benefit at the start of a run of fixtures which looks especially kind.

Crystal Palace have been derailed in recent weeks with back-to-back defeats, and the counter-attacking style which has hurt United in previous meetings has been abandoned for a more ball-dominant system.

Expect the individual quality of United to take over in the end.

Prediction: Man Utd 2-0 Crystal Palace
