Issa Diop Dismisses Talk of Leaving West Ham Amid Chelsea & Man Utd Rumours

West Ham centre-back Issa Diop insists that he is paying little attention to rumours surrounding his immediate future at the London Stadium.

The 23-year-old is reportedly a target for a number of Premier League clubs, including Manchester United, Chelsea and Tottenham, after putting in a number of stirring displays during his maiden season in east London.

Diop, who joined the Hammers in a £22m switch from Toulouse in the summer of 2018, hasn't been at his best this season, though, often finding himself relegated to the substitutes bench under previous manager Manuel Pellegrini.

But in spite of continued speculation that a big money move is on the horizon, the Frenchman insists that he's not thinking about the future, telling Foot Mercato that he has no interest in discussing any other club.

"I'm not in negotiations, I don't want to know which club is interested in me," Diop said. "So for me, it doesn't really change anything."

After impressing in his debut season, Manchester United were tipped to make a move and were thought to be considering a bid of around £45m. A move failed to materialise after Harry Maguire moved to Old Trafford instead, seemingly calm things down.

Yet Diop's second season has proved more challenging. West Ham find themselves teetering above the relegation zone in 16th, and prior to David Moyes' re-appointment, were badly struggling for consistency under Pellegrini.

Diop continued by admitting changes from Moyes will take some getting used to, adding: "For the moment, it's a little more complicated. We changed coaches recently. These are new working methods, new ideas."

Moyes' record after his first three games reads relatively well, comfortably dispatching Bournemouth at home before triumphing over Gillingham in the FA Cup. But the Hammers did slip to a devastating 1-0 loss to Sheffield United, in another game marred by VAR controversy.

Everton await this weekend, with Diop hopeful of regaining his place in the starting lineup ahead of Angelo Ogbonna and Fabian Balbuena, who was at fault for Sheffield United's solitary goal.
