Hibs have today announced that young striker Ryan Shanley has joined Edinburgh City on loan.

The 20-year-old has joined the Ainslie Park side until the end of the season.

The move to City will be Ryan's 5th loan spell, he has so far had spells with Civil Service, Forfar Athletic, Kelty Hearts and Finn Harps, but has only managed 12 games and 2 goals over those loans.

Shanley has played twice for the Hibs first team.

EDITORS VIEW:

It's good to see Ryan heading out to gain some much needed first team experience.

His last two loans have not went to plan, with the covid-19 pandemic ruining his loan with Kelty, which had started well, with him scoring 2 goals in 3 games.

Shanley then headed to Ireland but failed to hold down a first team spot and his loan was cut short.

Let's hope he can get a full season under his belt with City.
