Hibs have today, finally, announced the signing of Aiden MvGeady.
In what seems like all summer, the ex Sunderland winger has been linked with a move to Easter Road
The Hibees have landed the 36-year-old on a 1-year-deal and he is reunited with former Sunderland boss Lee Johnson.
Speaking to the offical club website, Lee Johnson said:
“We are delighted to bring Aiden to Hibernian FC.
"He will bring skill, experience and gravitas to our team. Aiden is a top player, has had a fantastic career to
date and we aim to extend and accentuate his abilities within the blend of our new-look squad.
“We will also look to utilise Aiden’s fantastic leadership qualities to help guide and get the best out of our young forward players.”
McGeady started his career with Celtic, before a big-money move to Russia with Spartak Moscow.
He then moved to Everton, before spells with Sheffield Wednesday, Preston and Sunderland.
He has played in the Champions League and been capped 93 times by Ireland.
A very good signing for the Hibees.
He brings a wealth of experience to a side packed with exciting kids and will hopefully aid their development.
Hopefully we will see a few more new faces in the coming days, after a raft of recent departures from the club
