According to St Mirren boss Jim Goodwin, Hibs have made an approach for Saints defender Paul McGinn.
Hibs boss Jack Ross has enquired about the right back and it's now up to the player if he fancies a move to Easter Road.
Ross was of course manager of the Paisley side, and McGinn joined the Saints just after Ross left for Sunderland.
Paul is also, obviously, the brother of Hibs legend John McGinn.
Speaking to the press just after their clash with Aberdeen today, Goodwin said:
“We’ll see what happens. Jack Ross likes Paul and they need a right-back after Jason Naismith did his cruciate. There has been a bit of interest and we’ll see what happens.
“We don’t want to lose any players as our squad is very light.
“There’s been an enquiry and the ball is in Paul’s court. But we don’t want to lose anyone, especially someone as important as Paul has been to this club over the years. But we don’t want to keep a player that is unhappy. So we’ll see what comes of it.”

Hibs have been looking for a right back since losing Jason Naismith to a cruciate injury last week.
The Hibees have three other right back's on the books, David Gray, Tom James and Steven Whittaker, so it seems a strange move.
Gray has just returned from long-term injury, and will probably fight it out with McGinn for a place in the team.
It also seems to suggest Tom James isn't in the managers plans, and veteran Steven Whittaker could be in his last few months as a Hibs player.
