For the second day running, Hibs have agreed a mutual termination with a player.

The Hibees have revealed today that they have "mutually terminated" the contract of veteran No3 keeper David Mitchell.

The Hibees snapped up the 32-year-old from Clyde last August to provide cover for Matt Macey and Kevin Dabrowski, but he never made a first team appearance.

He even stepped in to cover the first team goalkeeping coach spot, after Shaun Maloney and his team were sacked last season.

Mitchell has now left the Hibees and joined Partick Thistle with immediate effect.

17 year-old wonderkid goalkeeper Murray Johnson, tracked by Man City and Arsenal in the last few years, will now step-up and be given a chance to make the first team, should the chance arrive.

Speaking to the official club website, Mitchell said:

“It’s been a tough decision but I am now at an age where the most important thing for me is playing.

“The manager was very understanding and the Club made the process very easy for me. Everyone at Hibs has been amazing during my time here and I’ve loved every minute of it.

“I’d like to thank all the Hibernian staff, fans and my teammates for making it such a brilliant experience and making me a real part of the Hibs family."

HIBS-MAD VIEW:

Good luck to Dave with the move to Partick.

We've never seen him in a Hibs shirt, but he has contributed to our club, so deserves some respect.
