Ginnelly Move Made Permanent

The mysterious case of Josh Ginnelly may never be resolved. He was signed by Alex Neil as one of multiple young widish attacking players. Coming from Walsall there was an expectation that he would burst into the first team to compete with a whole host of others.

For some reason Ginnelly went away without even scratching the surface. It is unclear what happened but after signing he was rarely included within a matchday squad.

When he did feature it was often in cup games and out of position before he agreed to join Hearts on loan most likely to get as far away from Preston as possible.

There are numerous conspiracies. Some say he wasn't signed by Neil others say he just didn't settle and it may well be a mix of issues which led to him being a Preston player without actually playing that much for Preston.

He seemed to have settled at Hearts on loan and hopefully he can now push on with his career after signing a permanent deal to stay north of the border.
