Potential pair of Premier League ties

Sheffield Wednesday's reward for seeing off Exeter City in the third round of the FA Cup last weekend is a trip to Premier League giants Everton. A COVID-hit Owls squad was able to overcome the banana skin of a third round upset thanks to a 2-0 victory at St James' Park and they will now travel to Goodison Park on the weekend of 23rd January. The Toffees needed extra time in their third round tie before beating Owls near neigbours Rotherham United 2-1.

The Owls faced Everton in the League Cup at Hillsborough last season with the visitors winning 2-0 on that occasion thanks to two first half goals from Calvert-Lewin.

Peter Crouch also conducted the draw for the fith round of the competition on Monday and if Wednesday are able to beat Everton they will face either Wycombe Wanderers, who they have lost against in the Championship this season, or Jose Mourinho's Tottenham Hotspur at HIllsborough.
