1.1 Share purchase – 19%

1.2 Interest free loan – 38%

1.3 Support for the activities of ‘Dundee FC in the Community Trust’ – 11%

1.4 Support for the activities of the new ‘Dundee FC Historic Trust’ – 6%

1.5 Funding of free season tickets for schools and community groups – 19%

1.6 Funding of stadium improvements to benefit of the supporters – 7%

 

Respondents had the opportunity to tick as many boxes as they wished. The percentages for each of the above have been calculated as a proportion of the total number of ticks.

38% favoured an Interest free loan with the balance of 62% being spread between the five other options.

 

Respondents’ comments on each option included:

 

1.1 Additional shares would not bring additional powers.

1.2 An interest free loan should have an agreed repayment date.

1.3 As a charity the Community Trust secures funds from many other sources.

1.4 The Historical Trust has already benefited well from the Society.

1.5 Season ticket donations should focus on family packages to ensure that children can be accompanied.

1.6 Stadium improvements are low priority in view of the Camperdown proposal.

 

Question D - If you’ve responded ‘No’ to Question ‘A’ above please explain why, if you wish.

 

The following themes emerged from the analysis of the reasons given by those responding ‘No’ to question ‘A’:

 

Uncertainty that reserves at this time would make much difference to the Club’s position.

 

The reserves should be held and used in the event of a worse situation befalling the Club.

 

The Society should refrain from donations until the outcome of the Club’s business interruption insurance claim is known.

 

The refusal of the Club to accept the Society’s nominated representative onto the Club board.

 

The donation of a significant level of reserves to the Club would limit the ability of the Society to give backing to other community and supporter focused causes.

 

 

 

Conclusion:

 

The majority of the Members who responded are happy to release a significant amount
