Crystal Palace vs Brighton Preview: How to Watch on TV, Live Stream, Kick Off Time & Team News

Roy Hodgson's Eagles got their campaign off to a flying start with wins over Southampton and Manchester United, but were defeated in their most recent two fixtures against Chelsea and table-toppers Everton. With six points from four games, Palace sit 12th in the table.

As for the Seagulls, Graham Potter's side have tasted just one victory in their four Premier League matches, that coming in a 3-0 win at St James' Park. Brighton then went on to narrowly lose 3-2 to Manchester United, whilst also losing to – coincidentally – Everton and Chelsea.

Free agent signing Nathaniel Clyne could earn a place on the Palace bench, whilst Gary Cahill is set to make his first start for the Eagles this season after recovering from a hamstring injury.

Summer signing Michy Batshuayi could also come into the starting lineup, with the Belgian striker likely to be picked over the slow-starting Jordan Ayew.

As for Brighton, Tariq Lamptey has returned to training following a hamstring injury and will be assessed by the medical team to determine whether he is fit enough to feature. Aaron Connolly should also be available after picking up a knock during international duty with the Republic of Ireland.

Should Connolly be deemed unfit, Adam Lallana will likely come in for the youngster.

Recent Form

Crystal Palace were at the top of the table alongside Everton before the two sides met at Selhurst Park in gameweek three. The Toffees won 2-1 and have since continued their unbeaten streak, whilst Palace went in the opposite direction with a 4-0 loss to Chelsea at Stamford Bridge prior to the international break.

The Eagles did start the season in promising fashion, with a 1-0 win at home to Southampton - one of the most in-form sides at the back end of the previous campaign. This was followed by a convincing 3-1 victory away to Manchester United, leaving Hodgson's side on six points from four games.

Brighton, meanwhile, have run the gamut of emotions over their four games thus far. Following an opening day defeat to Chelsea, the Seagulls put on a convincing display to dismantle Newcastle 3-0, even with 10 men. This was then followed by a marginal defeat to Manchester United, with the Red Devils awarded a last-gasp penalty to steal the points from Brighton's clutches.

Potter's side were then defeated 4-2 at Goodison Park in the final game before the international break.

Each side's last five results are as follows.

Crystal Palace

Chelsea 4-0 Crystal Palace (03/10)
Crystal Palace 1-2 Everton (26/09)
Manchester United 1-3 Crystal Palace (19/09)
AFC Bournemouth [won on pens] 0-0 Crystal Palace (15/09)
Crystal Palace 1-0 Southampton (12/09)

Brighton

Everton 4-2 Brighton (03/10)
Brighton 0-3 Manchester United (30/09)
Brighton 2-3 Manchester United (26/09)
Preston North End 0-2 Brighton (23/09)
Newcastle 0-3 Brighton (20/09)

Prediction

Wilfried Zaha can be the difference for Palace | Jordan Mansfield/Getty Images

Whilst this will likely be a close encounter, Crystal Palace's forwards could tip the balance in their favour.

Wilfried Zaha scored a brilliant goal in this fixture last season, and you wouldn't bet against him doing the same again. With Batshuayi potentially partnering the Ivorian and the creativity of Eberechi Eze on the left, Palace could have too much quality in the final third.

Prediction: Crystal Palace 2-1 Brighton
