Christian Eriksen laments 'bad day at the office' for Man Utd

Christian Eriksen has lamented Manchester United's disastrous 6-3 defeat to arch rivals Manchester City as a 'bad day at the office' for the club.

The Red Devils had gone into the weekend's Manchester derby off the back of four wins on the bounce but were thoroughly beaten by City, with Erling Haaland and Phil Foden both scoring hat tricks in the win.

Speaking to Sky Sports after the game, the Danish international admitted that the defeat is a difficult one to take: "It came very heavy. I think everyone feels that it was a very bad day at the office.

"I think we started on the wrong foot, they had a lot of chances straight from [the start of] the game. I think we can only blame ourselves for not really coming into the game at any point.

"We missed a bit of courage to play out from the back and we let them play to their strengths, so I think the main focus after this game will be on ourselves. There's a lot of things we need to change, a lot of things we need to do better.

"Today was far from acceptable for what we should be doing."

Manchester United will hope to get back to winning way on Thursday evening when they face off against Omonia in the Europa League.
