Christian Doidge told he can leave Hibs

According to a report in tonight's Scotsman, Hibs have told striker Christian Doidge he can find a new club.

The Welshman has spent the last 12 months fighting back from a horrible achilles injury, which was then followed by a bad bout of covid-19.

29-year-old Doidge, only managed 2 goals in a horrid season, having smashed in the goals in the previous two seasons at Easter Road.

New Hibs boss Lee Johnson has told the former Bolton and Forest Green striker he is free to find another club and isn't in his first team plans going forward.

Doidge has played 111 times for Hibs, scoring 34 goals.

HIBS-MAD VIEW:

We LOVE big Christian here at Hibernian-Mad Towers.

He has been an excellent signing for the club, and has banged in some decent goals in hsi time in Edinburgh.

However, Lee Johnson is looking to pack the Hibees team with quick, powerful, younger players.

Quickness was never his strong point, but after his horrible achilles injury, it looked like he had lost a yard in pace.

This was quickly followed by a Covid-19 infection which ruined his comeback.

It now seems he is on his way out of Hibs, somehow we don't think he will have a problem finding a new club.
