According to reports this evening, both Blackburn Rovers and Wigan Athletic are leading the chae for young Hibs forward Oli Shaw.

The Edinburgh Evening News is reporting that "several" English Championship sides are monitoring his situation, and a couple have enquired about his availability.

Barnsley have also been credited with an interest according to the Sun.

Hibs are said to be looking for a "seven figure fee" according to the report for the 21-year-old should a bid be made.

Shaw has scored 12 goals in 58 appearances for the club, he also scored 7 goals in 25 games while out on loan with Stenhousemjuir earlier in his career.

Editor's View:

It's clear Oli has bags of potential, and he has done pretty well when called upon.

However he still seems quite lightweight and a loan spell with a Scottish Championship side was being muted earlier in the window, in an attempt to expose the younsgter to more first team football and to "toughen" him up.

If it's true Hibs would be wanting £1m+ for his signature due to his potential, it's chicken feed for these club's and boss Paul Heckingbottom could use the money to further invest in his squad.

However, Heckingbottom seems to rate Shaw, looking on him as no.3 striker at the minute, so it's unclear if the boss would sanction a move.

The Hibees are still keen to bring former loan forward Marc McNulty and midfielder Stephane Omeonga back to the club, and should they get a decent fee for Shaw it could finance a move for both players.
