Newcastle have been dealt a huge injury blow as in-form winger Allan Saint-Maximin left St James' Park on crutches on Sunday following his side's 2-1 victory over Southampton.
The Frenchman headed into the game in great form, but was nursing an ankle injury that he picked up in the Magpies' 2-0 victory over Sheffield United on Thursday.
However, Saint-Maximin left the win over Southampton in the sixth minute of stoppage time due to a hamstring injury and could be out for several weeks.

The eccentric attacker netted his first Newcastle goal last Thursday, and is becoming a fan favourite at St James' Park having signed from Nice in the summer transfer window.
However, his absence could be pivotal for Steve Bruce's side, with the manager admitting his frustrations to the BBC after the game.
"
He added: "He had a nasty ankle the other night and was hobbling around, but when he pulls up the way he did, then we all fear the worst and that is the downside of playing somebody tired."
The 22-year-old is beginning to excel in the Premier League with his blend of pace and power difficult for defenders to cope with. However, this isn't the first time Newcastle have been without Saint-Maximin - who missed games against Norwich, Watford and Liverpool earlier in the season.
Bruce admitted the injury didn't look great in his post-match interview, speculating that the forward could be out for some time.
“I nearly left him out today - and, now, I wish I had done because he could be out for weeks," admitted the Newcastle boss.
